Earl L. Wright is chair of the board and Executive Committee of AMG National Trust Bank (AMG). He was a co-founder of AMG in 1972. Prior to AMG, Mr. Wright was treasurer and controller for Irwin Management Company, a private investment company for a wealthy U.S. family, and then was a vice president with Shearson Hamill.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska and an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served as an academic advisor in helping start the Masters of Finance Program at the University of Denver and has authored articles for Trusts and Estates and Personal Financial Planning.
Mr. Wright is trustee emeritus of Doane College where he served on the Board of Trustees for 23 years. Further philanthropic activities include serving as secretary/treasurer for the Zenon C.R. Hansen Foundation for 34 years, Board of Governors for the (THA) Tom Haggai and Associates Foundation and chair of Common Sense Policy Round Table, a 501(c) 3 which focuses on job creation and economic growth for Colorado. At the University of Colorado Foundation, he serves as director of the Foundation and Chair of the Investment Policy Committee. Additional educational commitments have been chair of the Graduate School Advisory Committee at the University of Colorado and chair of the Investment Policy Committee for the CU Foundation. Community service includes being past board member and officer of Denver Rotary, as well as past president and chairman emeritus for the Denver Area Council, Boy Scouts of America and on their Board of Trustees.
Past community awards include being honored as a “Master in Profession” from his undergraduate alma mater. Denver Rotary presented him with the “Denver Humanitarian Award”; the Denver Area Boy Scouts bestowed on him the “Silver Beaver Award”; while Doane College gave him the “President’s Service Award” from the faculty and administration. “Aged to Perfection” awarded by the Christian Living Foundation honored his lifetime of community service.
