Provost and Vice Chancellors
The Division of Academic Affairs is responsible for administering the academic programs and policies of the Boulder campus, and for providing intellectual leadership for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and creative work. The division recruits faculty, deans, and other academic leaders, and allocates resources to ensure high-quality teaching, research and creative work, and service.
The Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer provides leadership in the financial management, operational, and planning activities of the campus. The Senior Vice Chancellor Division includes the offices of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer, Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Budget and Finance, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Relations, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, Executive Director of Real Estate Acquisitions, Athletic Director and their respective units.
The Division of Administration develops and maintains the infrastructure of the university so that CU-Boulder's mission of teaching, research, and service can be fulfilled. The vice chancellor for administration oversees all capital development and construction, facilities management, human resources, the campus police and public safety, environmental health and safety, business services, and the campus book store.
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement provides dedicated leadership to CU-Boulder's campus diversity efforts. The office fosters CU-Boulder's vision for a diverse campus climate and works with students, faculty, and staff to implement the campus diversity plan.
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research serves as a focal point for the investment in campus research, scholarship, and creative works, and strives to provide the types of infrastructure and administrative support that is necessary to promote and sustain our world-class faculty and research programs.
Frances Draper manages university communications and government, community, and business relations for the university. She serves on the Chancellor's Cabinet and provides strategic advice to leadership on communications and external relations. She is also involved in uniting campus-wide efforts to implement CU-Boulder's Flagship 2030 strategic plan.
The primary focus of the Division of Student Affairs is to create a positive learning environment that fosters successful learning and personal development, both inside and outside of the traditional classroom. Student learning and success is enhanced when the academic environment and community support students' full development as individuals–not just as isolated intellects–and when students are seen as important partners in the learning experience.
Carolyn Whitehead, Vice Chancellor for Advancement
The Vice Chancellor for Advancement oversees the areas of Development and the Alumni Association at the University of Colorado Boulder. The development team is charged with building and maintaining relationships with CU Boulder’s constituents and inviting them to support CU Boulder philanthropically. The purpose of the Alumni Association is to inspire all current and future CU Boulder alumni to develop a lifelong relationship with the university and one another. The Flagship 2030 strategic plan and overall mission of the University of Colorado Boulder guide the priorities and strategies of the Office of Advancement.
